About the NPE-S2 condensing tankless (NPE-180S2 / NPE-210S2 / NPE-240S2)

The NPE-S2 is Navien's current S-generation condensing tankless platform, listed on the Canadian site alongside the NPE-A2 series. The three Canadian sizes share one cabinet (17.3 in wide, 27.4 in high, 13.2 in deep), electronic ignition, 3/4 in connections, 120 V operation and forced-draft direct venting in 2 in or 3 in approved pipe, and differ in input and deliverable flow.

Navien publishes each S2 model's flow at three temperature rises rather than a single maximum, and this site reproduces those rises so capacity is never compared across different rise figures. In Metro Vancouver winter, when the rise to a 49 °C shower approaches 40 °C (72 °F), the flow at the 45 °F and 67 °F ratings is the honest sizing basis.

The Canadian terms of Navien's residential warranty are confirmed from Navien's Canadian warranty documents before any claim is made here. Whether CANRO stocks a given NPE-S2 model for a job is confirmed at consultation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the NPE-S2 and NPE-A2?

The S2 is Navien's current S-generation platform: the Canadian pages list it at UEF 0.96 against the A2's 0.95, with slightly higher flow at the 67 °F rise on the largest size. Both are current in the Canadian listing as of the verification date.

Is the NPE-S2 series sold in Canada?

Yes. Navien's Canadian site lists the NPE-S2 series (NPE-180S2, NPE-210S2, NPE-240S2) among its residential water heaters.

How is capacity measured on this series?

Navien publishes flow at specific temperature rises (for example 11.2 GPM at a 35 °F rise on the NPE-240S2). This site always shows the rise with the flow figure.
