About Rinnai

Rinnai's Canadian site lists residential tankless water heaters under the SENSEI name, with condensing (RX, RXP, RU, RUR) and non-condensing (RUS, RUCS, RE) lines. The company states that its tankless units carry a one-year labour warranty that extends to five years when the product is registered within 90 days, alongside longer heat-exchanger and parts terms set out in the warranty document.

Rinnai documents every diagnostic code in the installation and operation manual for each series and in a separate troubleshooting document that maps codes across V, RL, RU and SENSEI generations. Because the same code number carries the same meaning on several Rinnai generations but different meanings on other brands, WaterHeating.ca ties each code to the manual version it was read from.

Is the Rinnai RU series still current?

As of the verification date, rinnai.ca still serves live product pages for the RU199iN and its siblings, but the main tankless listing leads with the newer SENSEI RX and RXP models (UEF 0.98). Treat the RU series as current but likely to be superseded; the RX199iN is the closest successor.

Where are Rinnai water heaters supported in Canada?

Rinnai Canada is a division of Rinnai America Corporation. Its 2025 press release announces a Canadian warehouse in Markham, Ontario; support is through rinnai.ca and authorized installers.
